Meet the Midwives

Rita Manu- Registered Midwife

Rita was born and raised in Ghana, West Africa. Rita’s passion for midwifery started at a very young age after witnessing the birth of her younger sister. She was amazed at the wonderful birthing process and could not think of any other career than MIDWIFERY.

Rita graduated from the Midwifery School in Ghana and practiced as a Registered Midwife in busy/ high volume Hospitals both rural and urban managing uncomplicated and complicated pregnancies and Labour before moving to Canada. Rita has been part of uncountable births. Rita has over 10years experience in Midwifery Care both in Ghana and Canada.

Rita continued her passion for Midwifery by completing the International Midwifery Preregistration Program (Bridging Program) at Ryerson University in Ontario and has since then worked as a Registered Midwife in Edmonton and Fort McMurray. She was one of the pioneers of Midwifery Services in Fort McMurray. Rita Moved to Lethbridge to join chinook midwives to continue what she loves to do best (MIDWIFERY) and has now started her new Midwifery Practice “BRIDGE MIDWIVES”.

Rita is passionate about providing support and informed choice to all her clients and believes every pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum is unique.

She is married and a proud mother of two busy, talkative, and adorable children.

She loves music, movies, cooking and enjoys spending time with her family and at church when not busy catching babies. Rita looks forward to working with you throughout this wonderful journey of pregnancy, birth and postpartum.
